About Exposure Value Calculator
The Exposure Value (EV) system is a universal way to measure scene brightness. It allows photographers to swap settings (reciprocity) while maintaining the same exposure.
Understanding EV
EV 0 corresponds to an exposure of 1 second at f/1.0.
Common Light Levels:
- EV 15: Bright Sunny Day (Sunny 16 Rule).
- EV 12: Overcast Day.
- EV 7: Bright Indoor/Street Lighting.
- EV -2: Moonlight.
How to Use
Enter your ISO, f-stop, and Shutter Speed to see the resulting EV. This is useful for evaluating if your settings match the lighting conditions or comparing two different exposures.
